Duc Nguyen co-leads the AI: Foundations and Science-Informed Advancements CoS
Starting January 1, 2025, Duc Nguyen will co-lead the AI: Foundations and Science-Informed Advancements Community of Scholars (CoS).
The AI: Foundations and Science-Informed Advancements CoS brings together researchers to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies and apply them to solve real-world scientific and engineering challenges. By integrating expertise in AI, machine learning, statistical learning, applied mathematics, cognitive neuroscience and computational science, the CoS addresses critical problems in computational biology, biomedical engineering, materials science, and complex dynamical systems.
The team focuses on foundational AI research, such as neuro-cognitive learning dynamics, advanced algorithms for unsupervised learning and physics-informed modeling, while ensuring equitable and trustworthy AI applications in healthcare, sustainability and national security. The CoS seeks to position UT as a leader in advancing AI-driven science and engineering innovation.
